2011 Volunteer Scholarship Recipients
Volunteerism plays a critical role in the Lemont community, and is the cornerstone of the Lemont Junior Woman’s Club. Our organization is comprised of women in the community who are dedicated to raising funds and volunteering for the betterment of Lemont and the surrounding communities.
To recognize the efforts of those who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism, the LJWC offers various scholarships to high school seniors or adult women returning to school who live in Lemont. The scholarship may be used for tuition, room and board, books, or other educational purposes. The winner will be selected based on his or her commitment to volunteerism, academic and extracurricular performance, and written expression.
Congratulations to the 2011 LJWC Volunteer Scholarship Winners: Abigail Korte, Katherine Maslar & Robert Smierciak. Each received a $1,500 scholarship from the Lemont Junior Woman’s Club in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the community through volunteerism.
