The philanthropy committee helps to determine who and how to give back to our community. Our largest undertaking each year is the grant we give to a community organization. We also give at least one scholarship each year to a deserving Lemont student. The philanthropy committee is responsible for recognizing club members who’ve lost a loved one and those who are celebrating a birth each year. We provide the food pantries in town with donations. And, through our partnership with the Hope and Friendship Foundation, we provide birthday gifts to children in need and keep the Hope Closet in River Valley School organized. Last but not least, we provide our members with volunteer opportunities throughout the community.

Scholarships

The Lemont Junior Woman’s Club 2023 scholarship application is now available. We are excited to be providing multiple $2,000 scholarships this year! Please share or post with students you know. To be eligible, applicants must live in Lemont or District 210 boundaries, and be a high school senior male or female, or a woman returning to school. Applications are due by March 24th, 2023.

Grants

Through many generous gifts, the Lemont Junior Woman’s Club is able to provide grants to local nonprofits who are looking to give back to our community. Local non-profits throughout Cook, DuPage and Will counties are encouraged to apply.  The program started in 2017 and we have since had three winning organizations:
  • 2018: $10,000 Lemont District 113A Educational Foundation
  • 2018: $ 5,000 The Legacy Ranch
  • 2019: $10,000 PLOWS Council on Aging
