We are thrilled you are interested in becoming a member of LJWC: a strong, active organization of women devoted to Lemont!
Don’t let the “Junior” in our name fool you! All women over the age of 18 are welcome. The difference between a Junior Woman’s Club and a Woman’s Club is the direction it takes. A Junior Club is primarily service-oriented, and a Woman’s Club is more social.
As you consider joining our organization, please review the following expectations for active members:
- Pay your membership dues ($60) promptly each year during your anniversary month.
- Support club fundraisers.
- Lead at least one club initiative per year.
- Select 3-5 volunteer shifts per year.
- Be willing to hold office, if you are elected.
- Attend and participate in monthly general meetings. We ask that you attend at least 1 out of every 3 general meetings (3 out of 9 meetings September - May).
- Make motions to bring business before the board.
- Vote for amendments or projects that you agree with. If you are unsure, ask the presiding board member before voting takes place.
- Mentor new members and make them feel welcome.
