What We Do

For over 30 years, LJWC has benefited the greater Lemont community by conducting award-winning programs, recognizing young adult volunteer efforts, and providing critical funding to local non-profits.

We strive to leave legacies across Lemont by supporting worthwhile community projects.

  • Award Scholarships

Volunteerism plays a critical role in the Lemont community, and is the cornerstone of the Lemont Junior Woman’s Club. To recognize the efforts of those who also demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism, LJWC awards scholarships to Lemont high school seniors.

The LJWC scholarship process typically runs February - April.

  • Give Grants

With the support of many generous sponsors, LJWC is able to provide grants to local non-profits who are actively and effectively giving back to our community, including quarterly donations to each of our local food pantries.

Recent grant recipients include Hope & Friendship Foundation, Friends of the Lemont Public Library District,  Lemont High School Band Parents Association, Lemont Park Foundation, and Little Mountain Community Theatre.

  • Fundraise

LJWC generates funds through membership dues, individual donations, and event sponsorships. 100% of proceeds are funneled back into Lemont in support of community projects.

We host a larger fundraiser each year as well as several smaller campaigns.

We are partnered with PayPal Giving Fund and are a certified charity on Facebook.

Thank you for supporting our 501c3 organization through your contributions!

  • Volunteer

LJWC provides cultural, educational, civic and philanthropic services to Lemont and its residents. Through monthly volunteer opportunities, LJWC also encourages self-improvement and fosters friendships among its members.

Additional volunteers are always welcome at our events. Join us!

2025 Project - The Forge / Wilder World Trust Education Pavilion

During the 2024-2025 club year, LJWC donated $15,000 to The Wilder World Trust to go towards the construction of an Education Pavilion at the The Forge: Lemont Quarries Heritage Quarries Recreation Area. The pavilion will service school groups, families, and other visitors. Recently, LJWC members were able to see the project in its completion.
